Believe it or not, handbag sellers are thinking not just about what great handbags we can stock for the summer (I particularly love our glamorous Dents beach bag – it looks like it’s right out of the pages of a celeb magazine) but about what lovely bags we will stock for Christmas 2008.
I recently visited a large trade fair to see what handbags will be big for Autumn/Winter 2008. I was really excited to see lots more patent again for next winter and that glamorous clutches and oversized bags will still be the bags to be seen with. Rich reds and browns will be popular, but it seems navy will also still be a popular colour. All these colours were represented in patent too, and the combination of patent with beautiful shades and shapes makes for some really striking bags for the winter.
Bags with texture, such as fur (not real!) and tweed were also in evidence for Winter 2008. We will be stocking some very funky synthetic fur bags as well as classic herringbone tweed. If you would like to get your hands on some synthetic hide now though, we have still got some synthetic patent and hide bags in stock in black, brown and red.
It is still hard to beat a beautiful and classic leather handbag though, and I saw some fabulous designs in butter-soft leathers, new to the UK, which are most definitely Emotional Baggage! As for when they are coming? Well, watch this space…..
